Cyan simply didn't have the resources to devote to a brand new Myst game. Mattel contacted Cyan toan ask if they could publish a sequel to Riven. Cyan would only agree if they felt the game would be in the hands of a development company as talented as their own. Mattel then showed Cyan some of Presto Studio's work and Cyan said "Ok." Does Cyan have any involvement with Exile? The Myst 3: Exile game was completely designed, modeled, textured, animated, etc by Presto Studios. The only input Cyan has had in its creation is a little on the storyline, which RAWA [Cyan programmer and D'ni historian Richard Watson] has been involved in more than anybody else. Will Exile be as visualy pleasing as Riven? Yes. Presto implemented new panoramic navigation technology to bring Exile alive without losing any of the artistic beauty or interactivity of previous Myst games. How big will Exile be? Myst III: Exile will feature new fantastic environments that made its’ predecessors immersive, mysterious and beautiful. Exile will feature five entirely new ages for players to explore and hours of new mysteries to uncover. Who will be the villain in Exile? Exile introduces a new villain, played by Academy Award nominee Brad Dourif, whose home world was ruined by Sirrus and Achenar, the sons of Atrus and Catherine. He will return seeking vengeance toward Atrus and his family at their most vulnerable time. |
